I have been going out way too much

and it is time to go up!
Lately I have been making pots that allow the hands to work and the mind to play.
Slap- bowl-slap-bowl-slap bowl.
Rinse and repeat.
Slap bowl.

The mind can just do its thing while the hands- whoops, bowl.....work on their own.
Friday as I took inventory of the next kiln load, bowl, I thought it might be time to move up.

At first I was going to just make spoon crocks or wine slips. I threw two and decided that I needed more mental stimulation.
The wine/spoon crocks turned to vases and soon turned to bottles.
Felt good to stop going out and move up a bit.
Mark must have been on the same wave length.
I looked over and these American Jugs were coming off his wheel.
Here it is May and I think we are getting in a groovy.
There is nothing like just sleep walking through life is there?

The other night I had a dream with my sister Lee in it.
We were working on some wall pieces in purple and green her favorite colors.

Mark was sitting in a chair off to the side.
There was laughter and then I spoke to her and she was gone.
The dream moved on but she never came back.

No purple here but here is another shot of the Clematis.
I must say she is really putting out.

And before I leave I confess I watch some of the wedding.
I swear I saw  Doug Fitch  there!
But really the hats! Oh my gosh the hats! The hats were worth the time!
OH, we picked lettuce and Chard yesterday- yum!

Nothing better than a good hat, didn't watch, now I'm sorry I didn't. Happy May Day to you and Mark and white rabbit too.

I am still envious... I had hoped to sow the cold crops today. but i can't see the garden for the snow that is falling on it. Even in Manitoba that is pretty strange... oh well more berry bowls and wine tumblers onto the agenda. Thank goodness we are off to Orlando next week,

Nancy I wish I could send you some spring in a bottle- that would be nice about now.
PG and JS it was another perfect day here in the south.

I am in love with that colander in your first picture - just lovely...

I like working when the hands are on auto pilot and the mind can run but you are right that it can only go on for so long.

I still dream that my grandmother visits me, they are such beautiful moments in time that make me wish for longer sleep. I'm glad you had a moment with Lee.

Julia- Thanks and thanks it took years before I could get my father in a room in a dream I would look and look and sometimes just miss him.
Now there are times.
I was happy to dream with Lee- I have missed her.

the clematis is looking spectacular, our garden out front is looking good too. this is the time of year when our yard looks best. in late fall and winter the neighbors must hate us. peonies are gonna pop this week if the sun shines tho. who do you know that got married on tv? and knows doug fitch?

The milk bottle forms are great. I found a stash of salt fired ones in an antique store in Micanopy, Fl. I'm still kicking myself for not buying them. Happy Potting!
