And they call this winter

This round of daffodils are right out the front door.
They have not bloomed in many, many years.
In fact there have been years that I have wondered what flower if any these were?
I think that they had been subject to an over achieving mower for many of those years and then there was a time I might have tried to weed them out.
So after about 30 years with a lot of being ignored and abuse they did this.
Beautiful.
What a winner of a winter we are having.

We are moving into a glaze mode while making arrangements for a service for Louise.
Thank you each and everyone for you kind comments on the last blog.
I still marvel at the ever supporting community that we have become.
The last two days my head has been filled with good memories of Louise and good times.
Hold your love ones tight.
Cheers,
M

Snow today .....daffodils are on hold. Lovly to see yours in bloom.

I see some tenuous connection between your loss of Louise and the blooming daffodils. What a terrific, interesting and varied life she led. Regrets to you and Mark.

I remember the daffodils we had in Arkansas; they were the harbingers of Spring, I read the greenery had to stay for six weeks after bloom in order for the blooms to have enough energy to bloom the next year. So I always told Gary to let them wither till a couple of months had passed before he mowed them down, so we'd be able to enjoy them the next year.
