Sunday firing=Monday/Tuesday cool down

Sunday's firing went along like clock work on a good battery. There was still some wind that blew in from somewhere but the kiln clicked along and was done sooner than we thought it might be.
When we called the gas company after the last firing they sent someone out to check everything and the decision was to replace the regulator on the tank and leave all the other ones alone.
Right now I am going to say that worked.
I did take some quick looks in the kiln and what I can see looks good.
We might possible get in a bit further today, depending on the temperature.
We never rush the cooling cycle letting the kiln cool down on its own speed. I am convinced that more happens during cooling with the glazes.
I have looked way too early at the pots and been disappointed only to find a more true color 24 hours later.
There were so many interruptions when we were loading that we both forgot to take pictures of the middle and front stacks. I will have to get some before we unload, but I do like the loading pictures as a good reference for future loads.
There is much to do today and we have returned to winter with a cold, sunny morning .
I'll get back with you when we get some peeks in the kiln.
Tea time!
