And, what are you doing?

Over here at Whynot we are just hanging out. Isn't she a beauty?

There is work going on.

Tiles and planning a load for Henry.
Mixing glazes and hanging out with spiders.
And you?

Hmmmm more tiles! We will be doing our kitchen in the new place in a couple of years....thinking of mixing tiles from a couple of my favorite artist? Who knows, I have time to plan. Were the animal tiles that you posted awhile back done by you or your sister? I can't remember.

Can you tell what has been on my mind today?

Actually I would love one of the sheep tiles I saw awhile back. :) Even if I DIDN'T do the backsplash. I'll have to wait a bit as we are pinching pennies. I will let you know. :)

Those spiders are so beautiful. I love the webs they spin as long as I don't walk into one. Me, I'm just hanging out in Penland, firing salt and soda kilns.

Great tiles, curious why is the background a red clay color. Are these terra cotta? Sometimes the red color of terra cotta contrast draws me in like these do.

oh maybe that's the color of the glaze?

Your beautiful arachnid friend reminded me of many a fall day spent watching the "writing spiders" as we called them growing up. My sisters told me that if the spider wrote your name amidst their scribbling, you were doomed! As I recall, the story was that they would find you that night as you slept, bite you and turn you into one of them. Ah, sisters!

great story Jim. I really don't know is she would bite me but I don't want to take a chance. We think she is full of eggs since she is so big.

Anna- we will talk about one of those sheep tiles.

The tiles have a glaze on them but I wish I could just keep that red mud color that you see there.

Tracey we wake up in spider webs around here!

Whoa! How big is that spider? Gorgeous tiles too, but that spider....yikes!

Oh, she is a good size spider, but not as big as a shoe. I love that she is on a window and that I can easily watch her and not be too near.
Her hubby was a good snack for her, we saw what was left of him not pretty.... anyone have a body they need to get rid of??
