The house with a Porch you can sit on.... and everyone loves a good do-nut

I had my camera with me on my trip home and took a shot of the house.

This house raised me and my 4 siblings. It was a house filled with teen-agers and many family gatherings. One coming up soon as we all rotate in and out over the holidays.

My parents produced 5 kids in just under 6 years. So we are stair-steps as they use to say. The biggest span is a year and a half between myself and brother number two. We are boy, girl. boy, girl, girl- I am 4th child second daughter.

When ever we are home Mark and I walked down to the "historical district" and visit a few of our local favorites.
There are not as many of the "dives" left, but you can still find good beer among the ferns.

A local institution is the Do-nut Dinette. Where Mark and other Brother-in-laws go out for breakfast while the sisters drink coffee and tea and talk about what sisters talk about.
They still make do-nuts fresh daily. Which Mark now eats maybe once a year. He could do more in the day!
They also frown if you bring in coffee from Starbucks.
I am a walker and a few years ago noticed Mark would come with me while we were in town. I figured out why after realizing he came back with a coffee in one hand and a do-nut in the other.
We can't get that here!
Mom is doing well and heading home in the next few days.

Do Nut Dinette - I really like saying that - looks like a great place to hang out. So glad your mom is doing well.
