It's all about me

Question- what have you done for you lately?
A lot of us are in an occupation which requires long hours and hard work.
Yes, I know that the public thinks this is all fun, but boys and girls being a craftsperson of any kind is hard work.
Yes, we enjoy what we do and yes, we would rather do this then anything else.
But- we give up our time to make sure that our customers have what they need.
We really would not have it any other way- but what have you done for you and not felt rushed about it or guilty?
Yesterday for an hour plus it was all about me.
I made an appointment for a much needed massage.
Since the fire we have been shifting- working- and trying to regain our work area and a sense of rhythm.
We still have a ways to go- almost done- but not quite.
My upper back and neck were way out of whack and I knew it.
I would think, one more day- but I need to do------
Next week but I need to ..............
Then on Monday I said you have to put yourself on the list this week.
I did and I spent the most yummy hour with a person who really spent the time taking the kinks out and sending me to that warm fuzzy place we all need.
After it was over I was so relaxed I was in bed before ten and dreamed of pretzels and coffee beans.

So- take a day and make it all about you- or even an hour.
You will be glad you did.
Now- let's go paint!

OOOOOOHHH...sounds lucious you lucky girl. Glad you took some time for yourself. As to the workload of the craftsman what you didn't mention is how you end up earning so little for that labor of love. I think I know people who are paid by the hour who say, "Would you like fries with that?" who make more. But, you do beautiful work even if I am just a little biased about it. ;^) Hugs, Les

You are right! If we don't take time for ourselves, we will not be able to continue doing the things that have to be done... A little rest and relaxation go a long way.
