Pot and pots

In February we took a ride out to see our friend Jason Dowdle
and have him shoot some new pictures for us. We really need to update the pictures we have on our website and we need a new picture for the upcoming Seagrove Area Potters new map that is printed about every 2 years.

We took along a group of the Black and Blue or Cosmic Blue as a customer named it years ago and we were very pleased with how well Jason was able to shoot this work. It can be a real challenge to shoot since it loves to bounce light back.
So today this went out on the website.

Along with this example of our wood ash glazes.

Yesterday I was able to get a few pictures of the pots that will be heading out tomorrow for the furniture Market in High Point. This is the Wisteria glaze and will be set up in a show room with American made products, fabric and furniture.
We are working with Designer Bobbie Cox of Dragonfly Designs out of Charlotte, NC  who is working with Joe Ruggiero, Joe has a line of made in America products, furniture from Gat Creek out of West Virginia  and Fabrics from Sunbrella fabrics.  These pots are meant to blend and accent the fabrics and furniture.
The midnight is pretty amazing with loads of depth to the glaze. It goes so well with the fabrics. We are excited to see this all come together and plan to go over and see everything all set up together.
This bottom picture is the Sunrise glaze.

And the Longleaf... time to get some work done.
 Cheers, M

Is that the same one as Dotson Fishscale blue ? (I assume it is)Just wondering the origin - you or them or a combination?

John- let me see if I can trace the family tree on this glaze.
Yes and no.
Tracey gave us this glaze that you see on the picture and jar just before they went into the Fish scale design. This glaze that we refer to as Walt's ash was too running for them so they worked to take out more of the ash and come up with the blue that they used. That we called Tracey's ash.
Passing that on to us we then used the two as trailing top glazes.
We went more to keeping with the original glazes where they tweaked the other more and more until one day they called and asked for the original to work out some issues.
We love how this glaze breaks and runs and it has been a customer favorite for years.
Any thing else email me.

Nice pictures especially of the blue.I have trouble photographing real shiny pots even with a polarizing filter.
