Why am I sitting here?
Well, I am not a good dasher as you can see.
I have become a tad slower in my dashability.
Yes, I know that is not a word but seems we can add anything we want to the end of words these days. I know, I listen to NPR and they do it all the time.
Today is get some of the pine straw off the driveway day. As you have seem in past post the drive is a long one lined with tall pines trees and now is when they start to drop those lovely needles. Between those and the pine cones, that I call pot hole starters, things can get a bit messy out there.
Plus we want you to be able to get down the drive, or up the drive to find us. The best thing about being out there is it is a great view.

I think I am ready for the crisp days and cool nights.
I just wish we did not have to close up the house and turn on the heat.
I really enjoyed the past few weeks of open windows and cool air.
The bonus to fall is fall colors.
Now that gets me excited.
Here is a preview of things to come.
Off to "help" Mark.
I am a good at cheering one on.

Now that we have a real driveway instead of a bad horror movie lane, we too have decided that we are going to have to rake and get out the mine sweeper to trim back the edges so there is someplace to put snow.....which hopefully will be little.
That's a lot of driveway to clean.

We don't get too many pine needles, but plenty of leaves. This is the first year we have grazed the sheep year-round, and not only did they clean up the ground fall fruit in the orchard, they are like a little team of leaf eaters. Who knew?
I need me some pine eaters!
Not all the quarter mile driveway needs pine needles removed- only about 1/2 of that.
We both have a hay fork and you just walk and pile- walk and pile- looks great right now.
Gorgeous bottles in autumn colors~ love them! We are expecting our first hard frost this weekend, which should bring the remaining leaves to the ground. The earth is getting ready for slumber up here in the North East.
will miss coming! Helping out with a Habitat house and then I have a work event to attend. hope it's a wonderful one!

And I agree, I love the new fall crispness, amazing changing leaves and I can't help but gather a few leaves to roll into my clay.
