If you look back you will see pictures of this vase being made.
I can tell you now that the first time he made the vase it collapsed on him.
You know the drill.
It was made and drying.
Mark turned it over to work on the base and it was too weak on the shoulder.
Down it went.
Off to the dungeons with you!
Blasted clay!
Not to be defeated by the elements of life; he made it again.
The second one was ignored longer, allowing more drying time.
This time when it was turned over to work on the base it held.
We continued to ignore it until it emerged from the kiln all ready to be loved.
This clay can be wicked some days.
It really is a love.
Pick up will be on Saturday to be given for a June wedding.

This lamp went out on Friday to go with a lamp Mark made last January.
The folks that bought that first lamp decided they needed two.
Nice, we can do that.
And, even though they are not factory made matches they are good kissing cousins.
Not bad, if we do say so!

ahhh, June brides, I was a June bride, nobody gave me a gift that nice!
vases collapse: in life and pottery esp. I like the idea --if you fall off your horse, get right back up on it!

There's totally a lesson in the vase that falls ... and you try, try again. And the vase? Is lovely!
