Ms. B just between us
We unloaded the kiln under the late morning sunrise and the amazing moon.
It was a great load, no complaints from either of us.
I am out of here quick to finish up a load of tiles.
Cheers!

Who put the er-ugh back in summer
After our delightful week last week there was nothing to do but bring summer back around, that will show us who is boss.
It was hot and muggy here yesterday as we loaded the kiln. We took a few longer than usual breaks and drank plenty of water.
Stage 1- back stack in.
This was one of those 21 shelves from the back to the front.
All the top shelves or crown shelves were 14 inches or more.
This is more in line with what we usually have but I have to admit I do like it when Mark makes more tall pots since that means we put in less pots....
Somehow I missed getting a picture of the middle stack, must have been the heat.
Mark got up in the wee hours to light the kiln and we are cooking with gas right now.
With all the excitement of the Blue Moon we had to go see it rise. The moon comes up over the pond and it did not disappoint us. When we got down there it was just coming up all round and orange looking. We both had cameras and even my little point and shoot was able to get some pictures.
I tried to get more this morning as the moon was setting near our work studio but with the morning light I was not that successful.
I am a little envious that Mark would have been able to watch it most of the wee hours while he was up to fire.
He will tell you thought it was no longer the Blue Moon since today is September.
Rabbit, Rabbit for good luck.
This Sunflower is getting a lot of love from the bees.
It is time to move into Saturday and get ready to open the store. Hope you are all safe and well for the hoilday. Cheers! M

The fat and skinny of it
I gave up the studio for a few days to work on things like the house, gardens and paperwork.
It happens.
Sometime I think I can do it all and I am buzzing right along and then I have my very own little meltdown. I do this in private because it is cute when you are two, but not as cute when you are well over the age of two.....
Then I need some time to regroup and step away from the clay and breath some new thoughts and get other things done.
I find I have to set time lines for myself. Otherwise being self employed can eat you up.
It eats away every second and stepping out and away gives you back some focus on other things in life.
Not that I get it all done on those days because I can distract myself very easily as well.
Hey- what's over...squirrel...
What was I saying???
With me out of Mark's way for a few days he worked all alone and could listen to his music and be loud or not loud and make some vases.
I love the fat one.
This is a shape he does not make as often as he use to and there is something about a fat pot that just draws me in and makes me want to hold it.
Maybe it has the same effect that chubby babies have on me...must squeeze....
There there are the tall ones- Noble and proud.
And a new handle going on there.... It will be interesting to see this one play out.
I was up way too early this morning and could not find my camera.
I finally remember where I had left it.
As I was walking back from the studio the moon and 1 single star were just hanging in the muggy air
( it's going to be a hot one today) and I had to see if I could get a picture.
My camera doesn't do great pictures in the near dark but I did get one that shows the moon.
I am back out to the studio today so if you need me.....I'll be working.
Cheers!
