There is a song in there some where...

Some days as I sit in my basement and watch the world go by on my flat screen I wonder.
I wonder how we got  here to where we are today.
I wonder where we are all going and when we will all arrive.
But most days I don't wonder at all.
I just get up and do the things that need to be done to make it in this ever changing world - corny right- I know but do you really come here for deep thought?
I hope not because we are just two potters working daily at what we do.
I don't go deep because I hope you come here for some of the light stuff.
Somedays I don't want to think, some days I want to see pictures of your pots, your kids, your animals, your vacations, and yes-your lives.
If I wanted deep I could watch The Real Housewives of........
But I am just not that person.
I started this blog for many reasons one of which was not to tell you who was out there making good pots.
That is for you to decide.
Meanwhile after years of trying I just get up and do.
I do the things that need to be done to get work out.
And there are no secrets here--- I enjoy it.
So bring on the puppies, the babies, your recipes, your pictures of what you ate, your you tube, your jokes, your laughter and your tears.
Bring out the good, the bad and the ugly.
Show me a glimpse into your life and some days ,if need be, go wide.
I for one am reading.
Cheers,
M

Oh boy, you said so much so well; that's the important stuff, the daily stuff; that cartoon is priceless, says a lot about the world today unfortunately; I hope I can blow it up and print out a copy for myself.

AMEN AMEM AMEN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I was going to write a similar post yesterday because once again that one that shall not be named put me in a bad mood. I just don't want to read a three page post on the philosophy of pots. I come to the blogs for support, advise, happiness friendship, great photos of your work, your joys, your struggles.
Screw the philosophy of it all. I just make pots, period!

LOVE the cartoon. And love you, of course, 'cause that's the way sisters roll.

Hey guys- you all make me laugh and smile- isn't that what it is all about?
Because if you are always watching your back and not having a good time then why are you doing what you are doing.
So hear hear is right and cheers to all!
Linda there are cartoon places on line you can get this.
If I can find it again I will send you a copy.
Now back to the studio- cause that's how I roll-sister!

hi meredith,
that cartoon is too true. i see that many were turned off by the fracas from last week. i have to admit that my experience has been that the more serious and deep it goes, the more rife it is for finding humor. somethings are funny because they're funny and some things are funny because they're not.

What fracas? I want to read about the fracas!
:) I love drama that doesn't involve me! ;)

Just stopping by to say I'm new to the world of pottery blogs, but I'm so glad I found them! It's been lots of fun ogling and being inspired by your creations!
