my life as drop of water

Last night I took a walk in the evening.

I enjoyed that it was July and I could walk up the driveway at 7 pm without feeling the heat that we normally have this time of year.
Last year it was 107 outside with no chance of rain. This year there is 100 % chance of rain with no chance of sun.
Can one get use to doing everything in the wet and mud?
I am not sure that I like either.
I can only hope that the extremes find a way to even out.
I did find that I was enjoying the reflections in the mud.

These seems to be framed.
Can you possible see a tile coming out of these puddles...

Speaking of mud.
My last post brought many suggestions about what to do about the ordered tile.
After thinking them all over, I called back late today and was greeted by an answering machine.
I left a message that included who I was, why I was calling and our phone number.
Really, I need to give this another chance.
So the tile is off the wall until I give them enough time to call back.

Meanwhile there is mud and there is mud.
But this is not the mud we use to make pottery from.
Let's see if we can get some sun going soon.

Ahhh, the giraffe tile,I have a similar one in my studio that greets me every time I walk in the door, some nice potter gave it to me :-)
And the mud, and the rain.... Enough already! But 107? I'll settle for the rain!

This is a beautiful shot! And the whole mud/water thing reminds us what it is we're actually doing here. Making pots, which are made of mud!! I love that part, that we're taking the world we're in and making it into beauty that we can see and use and recognize. It shows to me that beauty permeates everything!

Hey Tb- maybe the rain gives us all an excuse to hang inside. I know that the heat does.
I just tried to pick some blueberries, they are begging for sun.
Hi Ian- thank you for your comments. I am going to check out your blog.

I am heading out to buy an air conditioner for the studio...with temps in the 90s and 70% humidity for as far out as they can predict I can't take it anymore! I cannot imagine how it would be with temps over 100??!! That's just crazy town ;)

Ah, weather, as soon ans you get used to something it changes.
Your puddle shots are beautiful. Nice to live lives where we can love mud so much.

I love the puddle photos. It is wonderful how often there is "magic" in the most simple everyday things like a puddle, if only we take the time to really look!
Hummm, the tile in your previous post..., I have a bit of a growing collection of things here that people have asked me for, or have wanted me to put to one side for them. Aggggggggggh!

air conditioning changed our lives. We put air in the studio before we had it in the house, sorry kids!

Peter- it is the small things- if you just look for them.
