A week in September

Good grief this has been a week for the books.
Cooler temperatures.
Blue skies with clouds that just float along with no worries.
The birds are happy.
The bees are happy.
The frogs have gone quiet at night.
Fall is coming.

I am always startled into fall by the lack of night sounds.

This week Mark and Tom Gray  put up the new signs on the corner.
To say some are bright is an understatement but it is a great improvement from the old signs that had seen better days.

  Here is the full front:

We need to do some mowing and look there is land for sale!

Pots were made and some old shapes brought back.
I use to have honey jars on my list every time I threw pots back in the 80's and early 90's then they fell out of favor for those squeeze bottles and we stopped making them. The other day I had a conversation with a customer that they needed one to put their local made honey in. Okay, there is a need again I'll make a round.
Besides if not honey than they can be filled with cotton balls, q-tips or sugar, let your imagination run wild.
Jars can be used for so many things.

Mark is in mug land making three different styles of mug.
That round one is my all time favorite shape for tea.
I don't know why it is we like different shapes for different things but the round is my friend for tea.
I have a different style I like for coffee and right now I am in a Hollis phase for water.

There was some grass cutting going on this week as you can see.

The night was a beauty and while Mark caught fish I wandered through the pasture taking pictures and picking up chiggers.
But what is life with out some adventure.
Now it is Sunday and no day of rest today.
Mark is fishing and I have plans.
I hope you can take a slow Sunday.

Love those round bales of hay, we had them in Arkansas and they amazed me as in California they mostly have small square bales, Nice to have the honey jars back in favor.

Nice slow start to Sunday, checking out the blogs, and sipping my coffee from a black and blue and white Whynot mug. Someday I need to learn the proper names for your forms and glazes. Meanwhile, I'll just enjoy using them...

Haha, I have the wrong glasses on, I thought that sign said "lamb for sale"! Yep, those are some bright signs, I won't miss your turn now, like I usually do! I like those little jars to store garlic in.
Slow Sunday here too, soft rain falling, and a phone call to my mom is overdue....

The sign is bright but it is eye catching and that's the whole point of a good sign. I am surprised that Tom's is green and not orange!
A slow start for us, the kiln was lit at 8:30 and I am still in my pj's. But it will be a work day here... perhaps at a slower pace than yesterday.

I always keep a few honey jars in stock, they aren't really popular but I do sell a few. Why? Because nobody else makes them, at least that's what the customer's say.

I hope you didn't really get bitten by chiggers. I got bitten a lot by them last Sunday and it's been no fun ever since.
